If you own a DSLR camera and know the basics of photography, you can’t deny that the beauty of a photograph often depends on the photographer, rather than the camera used. That is entirely true but again without the proper gear, taking impressive photographs of subjects like the night sky is highly impossible.

Most of you, who are using the default kit lens that came with your camera would have already experienced how difficult it is to take beautiful pictures at night. This is when you might realize why there are different type of lens. Starting from $50 to $10,000, detachable lenses for DSLR camera’s come with different focal lengths and depending on the focal lengths, camera lenses can be used for various types of photography.
Eventually I realized that the 18-55 kit lens that came with my Canon 550D was limiting my experiments with photography and I needed something new. What i was looking for was a lens that could perform very well in low light conditions. I read various reviews online and found out about many lenses that could satisfy my needs.
But even after reading all those reviews, I felt that the information provided was still unsatisfying. So i headed over to Flickr to view some interesting low light photographs and check out the lenses used to capture them. This is much better than reading reviews online since you actually get to see the quality of photography that are achieved by using the lens.
Usually the lens details is embedded into the EXIF data on a photograph. So by viewing the EXIF data you can easily find out the lens used to capture the photograph.
