Attempting to use the same desktop environment across different devices is the worst mistake any OS author has ever made. Yes tablets were popular because of the Apple gravy train, that is not a good reason to make your PC environment worse to bring it inline with your fledgling products! I hate this age of downloadable updates, it just means that manufactures release products that aren’t finished! I’m soo angry.. the most recent ‘update’ i installed has increased my boot time by a factor of twenty.. I can’t fix by upgrading through the app store because MS f***ed up the licensing and the ISO won’t download from their servers. At this the only way I can see of getting back on with my work is to download the ISO via torrent.

I do agree with you on this point , windows 7 was perhaps the last best operating system from Microsoft . Today Microsoft is trying to make a windows which can be the jack of all the trades , but we all know that’s not possible .

it not tht Microsoft wants to make such change to OS…its bcos people r more on to tablets n less with PC environment…PC sales r declining rapidly..wht they have done is to bring best of PC and tablet in to one…and they succeed here…its just people r feared of changes and they don’t want to agree tht its best OS out there..they will be merging their RT and WP8 into one OS which makes sense..and on other hand having windows 8 usable for tablets, laptops and PC…it works well on mouse n keyboard as its touch friendly..y do u think MS should make a separate OS for tablets n separate for PC when people can do both things in single tablets
