How to Remove Recent files from Quick access in Windows 10

H

Windows 10 has replaced the Favourites option in the File explorer with a new feature called quick access. The quick access feature has two sub options, which are Frequent folders and Recent files and as their name suggests, these two options show you the most recently accessed files and folders on your PC.
So whenever you open the File explorer on Windows 10, you won’t be seeing the drives on your PC. Instead, you will be taken to the quick access feature, where you will be able to see all the recent folders and files accessed by you.

For someone who is sharing their PC with their family members, the quick access feature can be a threat to their privacy. So it is very important that you disable this feature in order to protect your privacy.
Fortunately, there are two ways to get rid of the quick access feature. First of all, you can set file explorer to open This PC by default instead of the quick access menu. Otherwise you can permanently disable the Recent files from the quick access location in File explorer.
For your convenience i’ll be guiding you through the first method of removing Recent files from Quick access in Windows 10.

How to Remove Recent files from Quick access in Windows 10
